What size lift do i need with 40 inch mud tires?

I want 35 40 inch mud tires on my 1991 chevy z71. What Size Lift kit do i need to put on it to fit the tires on it? Also what is the best brand of mud tires i can get.

it depends on how much fender trimming you want. you can fit 40's with a 8 inch life and trim your fenders with a sawzall or maybe call a few shops and go down there and talk to them and get some feedback and look at what they have to offer just remember that with 40 inch tall tires you need to change your gears in the front and rear axle to around 4 55 gears to have the same power as it would stock. i run 37;s on my suburban.

Why does truck sound like I have mud tires on it while breaking?

I have a 2002 Dodge Durango and when I press the breaks it sounds like I have mud tires or big tires on. It also kinda sounds like if down shifting. I took it to two shops, one was a tranny place and it's not the transmission. She is also making a whining sound at 30mph.
3 weeks ago I had my brakes done all around... new pads, rotors, drums.
I had this sound before and after getting brake job.

Well it does not sound like brakes. It sounds more like a tire issue. The tires could be getting old, low on air or it might need an alignment. And a good Chance that it might need front struts.
