1992 Dodge Dynasty fuel line repair cost?
I have a 1992 Dodge Dynasty that is leaking fuel from a line towards the rear of the car. Is the line rubber or metal and if it is metal can I replace it with a rubber hose as I have been told it is cheaper? Also how much should I look to pay for this service, both if a metal line is needed and if a rubber one can be used? Thanks so much!
The fuel line is a metal tube running from very near the gas tank opening up to the engine compartment. The metal tubing is connected at both ends (engine and fuel pump) with flexible rubber hose with special quick release fittings on the ends that connect to the metal tube. If it's the rubber hose, labor should be about 1/2 hour. If it's the metal tube, labor will be much more. I don't know the book rate but I would guess at least two hours.
