Bmw E46 Left - Parts and Supplies

How do you change a left headlight and a front left indicator bulbs on a 2002 BMW 325i?

Please post any photos and any recos on bulbs to be used.
BMW E46 series with regular lighting system.
Thanks

Instructions for both are in the owners manual.

If you don't have one, see link below.

If you have xenon headlamps you should be careful when changing the bulb. Make sure you purchase the correct application (D2S) and DONT TOUCH THE BULB when replacing it. If it's a standard halogen bulb then you still have to get the correct application the still do not touch the bulb end. Your fingerprints will cause it to burn in hot spots which will eventually lead to another burn out. Hopefully it's just a halogen because HID Xenon bulbs from factory are REALLy $$$$$$$$. I just replaced one of mine for $175, but you should never have to replace an HID bulb. It usually means there's something else wrong other than the bulb itself. To replace either or you have to remove the plastic caps on the reverse side of the headlight inside the engine compartment and twist out the bulb.

Now for the indicator bulb there should be a hole with a screw down inside it on top of the housing where your hood sits. Stick a screw driver down there and unscrew it. It doesn't come out all the way!!! So don't force it. THen pull the whole housing out and turn the bulb connector a little to release the housing. ******When you slide the housing back into place make sure you don't tighten the screw down too much, you could crack the plactic Y looking piece that hold the whole housing in. Good Luck

where's the best place to get a crankshaft for a 1999 bmw 318i E46 in ireland?

crankshaft went in my bmw cos i left it go to low on oil. I don't wanna go to a main dealer for a new one cos they charge too much. Is it worth getting a new one or will i need a new engine altogether???

Why do you say just Ireland, surely you must get post and courier deliveries. Have a look on eBay, although the fact that you have a Beemer I suggest you search Google for GSF (German, Swedish & French), you'll find parts from them are at unbelievable prices.

Hope that helps

World's your oyster

as always it depends on what you like

A 993 is a car to love and adore. Get out there and test drive a few. If you're not worried about the last word in nimbless and tactility etc.. (coming from an M3 you may not be) then maybe consider a 993 turbo which has looks to die for and will be great as an all round GT car with the kids in the back etc.. and you won't have to 'forget performance figures' because it will still be very rapid. Just try and makes sure you test drive one thats on good suspension and is set up right as a bad test in a 993 can put you off for life. Its an old car now and needs to extract the best from its damping and geometry to shine.

As for the 996's, I'd definitely test drive a 996tt as well. A lot more aloof and a doodle to drive but as an all round real world road car surely about the best it gets. Good value as well. I also wouldn't rule out a GT2 or a GT3 if you want something more interesting. Get the geo right, fit

Button interface to Bordmonitor on BMW E39 and E46 - MP3Car.com

You wrote here that we must find the persuasion of buttons are used. You do not, I guess you These are legitimate Spartan optical rotary encoders giving rotation make detailed differences on their products. On the "B side engeneered" patterns (which I posted before) PCBs button, I put the outline of how I connected these knobs. For some reason Alpine (bordmonitor is manufactured by Alpine) decision to use two buttons, one with 5 pins, one with 6 pins. However, the functionality / naming complex of them seems to be the same. The one with 6 pins required input Vcc (5V) and provides peak wind shifted on the J2.2 / 3 pin. The other (with 5 pins) are not a constraint Vdc auxiliary. It is therefore an objective difficulty in the slate-up (to Vcc) both J1.1 Pins / 3 and you get the output. On the E39-forum.de noisily found the producer of rotary controls for consistent on the 4:3 screen.
