If i get 2 alpine 12" type r 2 OHM subwoofers is a hifonics bxi 1600 watt amp a good choice?

The subs each have 500 watt rms (2 250 watt 2 ohm voice coils i guess). The amp has 1100 watts at 2 ohm but only 550 at 4 ohm. So really what im asking is will the amp properly power all 4 voice coils and will i need to buy extra wiring or anything like that?

yes the bxi 1608 will power the r types just fine, heres how wire each subs coils in series to give you 2 4ohm loads then take your 2 4ohm loads and wire them in parallel to create a 2ohm load. wired as so into your amp you would achieve 1100rms, 550 into each sub.

I wanted to know what was the best brand of car subwoofers there is. I was going to get a pair of hifonics subwoofers but i don't really know how they sound. I know JL's are really good when it comes to hard clean bass.

I too love my Infinity subwoofer.

2000 not only broke 3. But am worrying to arbitrate between the heather Audio 1800 Watt Irish Fair and getting 2 15 "Type R or something. Assuming Well, the 15s are like 12s and have made this trade more than they are expected to . Kinda like the 12s I got conservative today ... but if things line out I might end up trading the AP15001d and 2 12 "Category Rs I got a decent HU so ill have something preference Kenwood to average $ 80 that I got. The AP18001d and 2 15 "Type Rs would be 70 million more than I wanted to explain ... and thats without a box ...
