Can you build you own computer speakers with car speaker like pioneer kicker ect?
i am trying to build a mini music system for my computer bcause i hate the already made computer speakers i want to use pioneer or kicker speakers but don't know if it will work
Or...... you could just run a patch cable to your stereo/home theatre system and play through that.
Audio output from your 'puter is relatively low power, so you would need some form of amplification to drive automotive speakers.
Assuming your goal is playing music, all you need is a patch cable with a miniplug on one end, and two RCA plugs on the other. Put the miniplug in your computer, RCA plugs to tape or CD input on your amplifier, and you're good to go.
You could build it but one thing you want to be sure is that you do not have a CRT monitor because unless you put shielding on the enclosures for the speakers you might put them next to the monitor and magnetize it. LCD monitors do not have this problem. But CRT colors will blend and bleed around the magnetized areas of the screen.
There are better computer speakers at computer stores that have surround sound and subwoofers so you might want to check those out before you build your own.
You could also use a 1/8 inch stereo mini plug to dual RCA cable adapter to convert the connection on most PC computer sound cards to connect to the AUX input of your stereo or surround sound system and use that for sound.
And there are sound cards that have multiple surround sound outputs in analog (1/8 inch mini plug, multiple connections) or digital (optical cable) form to connect to your surround sound system. So you might want to look into that.
