My installed Audiovox Prestige Car Starter/Alarm won't start car?

It is installed per instructions. I can lock/unlock the car, the hood pin works, and the car alarm works. It will not start the car at all though and is hooked up to the appropriate wires. I copied another Scion xB that has the same system and mine does not work. Any ideas? It's model APS997A I believe.
If you car is new, maybe within 10 years old, in order for the remote start to work you need an extra key. Some of the late cars (not sure about Scion) have chips inside of their keys that help in preventing the car from being stolen. Well for it to work you need 2 keys, one goes in the alarm and the other is on your key.

I would like to know if this model number has been discontinued or if it has been replaced with another one?
Most time you can get one from a dealer but they are pricey but they have a universal one on ebay.
