how can you make burned dvd's play in automobile dvd players?
Dec 23, 2006 by sacca900 | Posted in TiVO & DVRs
It is not how to make them play in the player, it's wether or not your DVD player can read DVD-R's or DVD-RW's.
Some DVD players lasers are not strong enough to read burnt DVD's or CD's. Try using a different media and see if that works.
If you find a media (name brand) that works, stick with that media to record your DVD's.
Cheers!

Is it illegal in Texas to have a dvd monitor in the front of an automobile to where the driver can watch?
Feb 12, 2007 by echickaboo99 | Posted in Safety
Someone I know has a suv with a dvd player and screen in the back of the vehicle. They want to put a monitor up in the front so they can view what the kids are watching. Is it illegal in Texas to do so?
I'm not saying the driver would be watching the tv while driving, but when stopped, they can see if a movie is over, stuck, etc.
It is not illegal everywhere as many many stores sell car stereos that come with a built in dvd player. If they were illegal, then they couldn't sell them in those states.
The obvious best answer here is the one about the locking device that doesn't allow you to watch it while driving. Which is the INTENT of this question. I've asked several questions on this website before and I always seem to get answers that are either repeat, stupid, or just plain ignorant. I stated, this is NOT to be watched while driving and only when stopped, so if someone is laughing driving by, it will not be you, it will be me because I can afford one and you cannot. Thanks for your time, I have my answers. For those of you with sound advice, I appreciate your time. For those of you that only answered to get a few stupid points on here, don't quit your day job. Have a good day.
Oh yeah, to the one that would laugh at the sight of kids mangled bodies (for whatever the reason of the crash)....you need help.
Not at all, providing the proper interlock device is installed, which renders the screen inoperative unless and until the vehicle is in park and the parking brake on full. Otherwise it would be illegal. The only time you can have a monitor on full time while driving in view of the driver is when you have a dedicated back up system with a back mounted camera and one of those fancy mirrors with a monitor built into it..
